Enhancing Network Decentralization - Proposals for Identity Verification and Subnet Allocation
DFINITY team proposed that Node providers on the Internet Computer must verify their identity, ensure compliant funding, commit to required hardware, and avoid conflicts of interest. The NNS can vote to remove violators or appoint legal action against them to uphold network integrity.
Technical Working Group: Node Providers
The Internet Computer community is refining its Node Provider Independence Questionnaire and will seek legal and auditor review before final approval. A motion is also being drafted to require all Node Providers to register a public neuron for transparency. Additionally, a new working group will define maintenance standards and disclosure practices to strengthen decentralization.
Topic-based following for swap neuron baskets
DFINITY proposed a topic-based following set-up for the neuron baskets created for SNS swap participants at launch.
As the old KYT canister is no longer in use, a proposal to uninstall it will be submitted to the NNS soon.
